1-3-6 Collaborative Protocol
How to use:
1. After reading a selected text, students work individually to complete a product (questions, graphic organizer, etc.)
2. Students then collaborate on the same product in a group of three and refine the product.
3. The groups of three then combine to form groups of six to share and further their products.

Think-Alouds
Think-aloud is a strategy involving teachers reading a section orally in order to model for students how skilled readers construct meaning and monitor comprehension. I helps students to improve comprehension, make sense of what they have read and monitor their understanding of a text.
It can be used before and during reading in a large or small group and individually.
How to use: Document with directions and a template for students to use as they read and use the strategy.(click here)
